Michael Browning, Principal
Mr. Browning has served as the Principal at Saint Anne School since 1999, and brings a
wealth of teaching and Catholic school administration and leadership experience to Saint Anne
School. A native of Scotland, Mr. Browning holds a Bachelors degree from the University of
Glasgow, Scotland and a Masters in Education from CSU, Northridge. In addition to serving as the school's Principal, Mr. Browning serves on the Archdiocesan Leadership Council and teaches Algebra 1 and Advanced Literature to qualified students.
Fr. Rafael Venegas, St. Anne Church and Shrine
Fr. Rafael began his tenure at St. Anne Church and Shrine in July 2011. Fr. Rafael studied at
Seminario Felipe y Galindo (junior seminary) and Seminario Menor San Jose (high school
seminary) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. After emigrating to the United States, Fr. Rafael
attended Blair High School and Pasadena City College. He completed his studies at
Universidad Libre Internacional de las Americas and St. John's Seminary. Cardinal Mahony
ordained Rafael Venegas a priest on June 2, 2007 at Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels.

Tracey Willson, Kindergarten: Kindergarten teacher Tracey Willson joined our faculty in
2009. Ms. Willson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Irvine,
a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a BTSA program certificate.
Lorraine Speights, First Grade: Ms. Speights holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal
Studies from California State Polytechnic University and a is enrolled in a graduate program
as a candidate for a Master of Arts in Human Development at Pacific Oaks College. Ms.
Speights joined the Saint Anne School faculty in 2010, having worked previously as a
Catholic elementary school first and second grade teacher, a school Principal and as the
Assistant Dean of Students at St. Monica Catholic High School.
Cassandra Muzzey, Second Grade: Ms. Muzzey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from
California State University, Northridge, and participated in the Science Standards with
Integrative Marine Science program through the University of California, Los Angeles. She
completed the Multiple Subjects Assessment for Teachers and the California Basic
Educational Skills Test. She is enrolled in a graduate program at Loyola Marymount
University to earn a Masters Degree in Elemetary Education and a California State Teaching Credential. She returned to our faculty in 2010.
Alisa Danforth, Third Grade: Ms. Danforth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree Marymount
University, a Multiple Subject CLAD Credential and a Master of Arts degree in Literacy and
Language Arts from Loyola Marymount University. Ms. Danforth has served as the Third
Grade teacher at Saint Anne School since 2004.
Ana Lisa Renteria, Fourth Grade, and Vice Principal: Ms. Renteria holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree from the University of Texas, El Paso and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
She taught elementary school in Texas before relocating to Los Angeles where she joined the
faculty at Saint Anne School in the Fall of 2007. Ms. Renteria was named Vice Principal
beginning in 2011.
Vivian Fiori, Fifth Grade: Ms. Fiori joined the faculty at Saint Anne School in Fall of 2007.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Science, and a
Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach. Ms.
Fiori currently is enrolled in the graduate program at California State University, Long Beach
to earn her Master of Arts degree in Education Administration and a Professional
Administrative Services Credential.
Katherine Abel, Sixth Grade, Middle School Social Studies and Religion Specialist: Ms.
Abel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a Writing emphasis from the
University of St. Thomas. She holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and earned a
Masters of Arts degree in Secondary Education and a Social Studies Teaching Credential with
certification for English Language Learners from Loyola Marymount University.
Joseph Murphy, Seventh Grade, Middle School Language Arts Specialist: Mr. Murphy holds
a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. He
received his Masters of Arts degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University and
joined the faculty at Saint Anne School in Fall of 2007.
Claudia Mendez, Eighth Grade, Middle School Mathematics and Science Specialist: Ms.
Mendez joins Saint Anne School's faculty this year after teaching eighth grade math and
science for 14 years at St. Thomas Aquinas School. Ms. Mendez holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree from University of Phoenix and a Masters Degree in Catholic School Administration
from Loyola Marymount University.

Administration
Carol O'Day, Director of Marketing and Development. Ms. O'Day joined the Saint Anne
School administrative team in January of 2009. Ms. O'Day holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Williams College and a law degree from Boston College Law School. She oversees the
school's Annual Campaign, community partnerships, and development efforts and conducts
enrollment outreach. Ms. O'Day represents Saint Anne School as a member of the Catholic
Schools Consortium, the Saint Anne School Support Council, the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce's Education Committee, St. John's Health Center's Community Advisory Board, the Santa Monica College General Advisory Board, the Santa Monica Youth Collaborative and the Santa Monica Child Care and Early Education Task Force.
Francis Flores, Administrative Assistant to the Principal. Ms. Francis is the heart and
soul of Saint Anne School. She is the school's primary contact and receptionist, and
oversees student registration, student records, bookkeeping, and tuition payment and
management. She has worked at Saint Anne School for over a decade.
Agustin Garcia, Custodian. Mr. Garcia is a one-man wonder. As the school's sole custodian, he
is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the school classrooms and facilities and
oversees the school's summer upgrades and refurbishments.
